About the Museum - Quick Facts

  • The Heritage Center of Lancaster County, Inc. acquired the Esprit Collection of Lancaster County Amish quilts in 2002.

  •  
  • The Lancaster Quilt & Textile Museum opened in March of 2004. It highlights the Amish Quilt Collection as its permanent exhibition.

  •  
  • Exhibitions of other south-central Pennsylvania quilts and textiles will follow in future years.

  •  
  • The Heritage Center of Lancaster County , Inc. also operates the Heritage Center Museum.

  •  
  • Located on Penn Square in downtown Lancaster, the Heritage Center Museum features a collection that represents the history and decorative arts of Lancaster County and south-central Pennsylvania from the 18th century to the present.

  • Both museums offer a full range of professionally developed educational programs for school groups, adults and families.
