Education - Students

Programs at the Museum

The Lancaster Quilt & Textile Museum's dedication to bringing local history to area students is evident in its commitment to provide on-site programs for FREE to reserved school groups. This complimentary admission is extended to teachers and chaperones (6 complimentary admissions for every 30 students) as well.

At the museum, school or home school groups will participate in an interactive program centered on the permanent exhibition and followed by a related hands-on activity. This program will require 90 minutes.
Building a Day Devoted to Local History

Why not add another museum program to your trip? Visit the Lancaster Cultural History Museum, which features a similar exhibit tour and activity program as described above.
Self-Guided Student Walking Tour

Created by popular demand from educators in Lancaster County, this FREE program provides a colorful Passport to each participating student and a thorough teacher's guide for the instructor. It features stops at 18 historic sites in the city of Lancaster.

This program is extremely flexible, as teachers may add or subtract sites to accommodate their particular interests or time schedule. The tour will take approximately 60-75 minutes for a shortened version and 75-90 minutes for the full version.

Many groups combine two programs and, with the addition of lunch at one of our facilities, make a day of their downtown Lancaster experience. Brown-bag lunches can be eaten before, after, or between programs in either the Jasper Yeates Education Center or the Quilt & Textile Museum's education room (ready in September 2004).
